The 32nd Summer Olympic Games recently began in Tokyo and, of course, I could not miss a major sporting event on a global scale, so I wrote a piano cover to music that is considered one of the unofficial anthems of the Olympics is Chariot of Fire. However, this is not a simple cover, I decided to arrange a version played by Rowan Atkinson as Mr. Bean once from the London Symphony Orchestra at the opening of the Olympic Games in London.

The music was written for the film of the same name which was released in 1981 and which tells the stories of two real athletes who participated in the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris, France. The music for this film was written by the Greek composer Evangelis Odysseas Palatanasau, better known as Vangelis. The music is imbued with the sporting spirit of the early 20th century and I tried to convey this atmosphere in my cover and also add a touch of comedy thanks to Mr. Bean’s performance.

I think you will like it.

Pleasent watching and playing!
